Airport Terminal
Let's face it, no one wakes up in the morning and says "Eureka, I need a Collaboration platform to help me get my projects up to speed and back on track".  However, from what I have seen in many projects a Collaboration Platform such as Teaming + Conferencing or Kablink may be exactly what is needed to help projects be delivered on time and on budget.  Why? Well one of the biggest issues I see in both small and large projects that go wrong is the lack of communication and misunderstanding that occurs.  This leads to confusion and mistrust and the blame game starts between contractors, suppliers and customers.

Having a Collaboration platform such as Teaming + Conferencing, however, will eliminate most of these issues by providing a single common interface for all parties concerned to communicate through, sort of like a Facebook approach.  However, Teaming + Conferencing is much, much more than an enterprise social networking tool.  It has Team Workspaces that can be setup instantly by the relevant project teams themselves! Within this it has simple document repositories with document version control which can support over 400 document types. Workspace owners can set their own permissions, communicate to team members through threaded discussions or blogs and wikis. They can even build their own simple or complex workflows to ensure smooth progression of decisions and/or processes.  Tasks can be created and assigned and key milestones can be monitored via the dashboard or RSS.  Critical elements can be automatically flagged and the relevant project manager or indeed any manager responsible for the project can initiate either a scheduled or instant meeting to ascertain the problem and sort it out rather than being blindsided in the weekly or monthly project status meeting.
